Foundation
St. John Bosco College, an institution dedicated to nurturing future leaders and empowering young minds, was established on the 4th of February, 1988. The foundation stone-laying and blessing ceremony was a humble yet profoundly spiritual event officiated by the late Rt. Rev. Dr. Alan D’Lastic, the then Roman Catholic Bishop of the Diocese of Lucknow. Rooted in faith and guided by a vision of enlightenment and progress, this milestone marked the birth of a school committed to transforming lives through education.
Our institution operates as an unaided, Roman Catholic-run, English-medium, co-educational day school. It is administered by the St. Don Bosco Educational Society, which is steadfast in its mission to offer high-quality education at an affordable cost. We believe that education is the most powerful tool for change, and our efforts are aligned to provide not just academic learning but also the values and skills that shape well-rounded individuals.
The year 1988 holds special significance as it marked the centenary of the death of St. John Bosco, a revered 19th-century Roman Catholic saint. A visionary far ahead of his time, St. John Bosco was a dedicated educator and social reformer who tirelessly worked to empower the masses through the power of education. Our institution proudly bears his name to honor his life’s work and mission. His guiding motto, “Conquer Evil by Goodness,” serves as the foundation of our ethos, inspiring our students to lead lives of virtue, compassion, and excellence.
St. John Bosco College is affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE), New Delhi, which allows us to deliver academic programs of the highest standard. Our students are awarded ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education) certifications after Class X and ISC (Indian School Certificate) certifications after Class XII in the Science and Commerce streams. These qualifications prepare our students not only for higher education but also for the challenges of an evolving world.
Our journey began as one of the first functional educational institutions in the Gomti Nagar Township. Since then, we have grown exponentially, building a legacy of academic excellence and holistic development. Over the years, we have expanded our vision and offerings, integrating modern pedagogical practices with traditional values.
